4.5.9: 

I had some time off work ,so I did a lot of work on my site this weekend.  The main upgrade is a flash mp3 player.  This will make it easier for users to navigate through my reel.  I am still going to keep the quicktime links to my music in the music page so people can check out my music on an iphone. 

On the top right of every page is a button that will take people to a pop up window of the flash player.  This way people can listen to my music in the background while they search the internets.  I also added the flash player to my home page.  I want the player in black though.  This weekend was my crash course in html codes.  Next weekend I should have a podcast up.  This shouldn’t take long...  I just need to find time to do it.

Lately I have been doing a lot of work midi orchestrating cartoon music.  I am learning a lot from the composer.  Orchestrating cartoon music is boot camp for super fast scoring.  Its a lot of fun.  I’ll post more details on this in the future.

Side note...  I decided to delete my main myspace page.  I’ll still have the myspace music page.  I dont have time to keep up with everything.

3.18.9: 

I posted a new track on my music page. 

Young Heroes is a demo track for an animation project.  The style of thiis cue is a bit different than anything I’ve written before.  I had fun...  It is the first track written with my new studio setup.  I recently purchased a new Mac.  It’s nice to write music without freezing tracks.

On the music page I categorized some of the cues by genre.  Hopefully this will make it easier to find a specific style of music.  It’s great for me.  I am motivated to fill some of the holes in my library.

3.13.9: 

My first post of 2009 (3 months late).  I’ve added a handful of new tracks to my music page. I also spent some time remastering old work.  I will soon post some non-film score music.  This will include old concert pieces and phat pop tracks.  I am still trying hard to track down some films so I can post video.  The overall look of my site has changed as well.  I finally took the time to learn photoshop in an effort to create a cleaner logo.  I’m really happy with the way the multi-colored piano looks now.  I plan on using this logo on everything, and name my business after it. 

I am still as busy as ever in LA and time has been flying by.  I’ve been finishing old projects and starting new ones.  I will post more details on these new projects as they develop.  I recently started a ‘skalbamusic’ twitter page.  I’m hoping twitter can be a way to alert people on my updates, and draw people to my site. 

One side note...  This is the first time in my life that I avoided winter.  Sunshine is better than Chicago winter. 

Another side note...  I really want to make these updates more frequent.  I’ll try harder.

12.4.8: 

Music from the film “Little Brother” is now uploaded.  I am hoping to get video up soon. 

Tim Jones and I recently finished writing the score for a indy short called “Weathered.”  I just posted the opening credits on my music page.  Working on this film was a fun experience.  I learned that the Ukulele is my new favorite instrument.

11.7.8: 

It’s been a long time since i last updated my site.  A lot has gone on in the past six months.  I finished 3 films...  All were great experiences.  I hope to work with the directors again.  Cues from these films can be heard on my music page.  My most recent score, “Little Brother,” was recorded at Capitol Studios by a small chamber orchestra.

At the beginning of August I made the move from Chicago to LA.  After spending a month at Hans Zimmer’s ‘Remote Control Productions,’ I landed a full time job working for up and coming composer Tim Jones.  Our main project is the television series, “Chuck,” on NBC.  I feel very lucky to be working in a fun atmosphere, that allows me to further my education in the film score world.

Hopefully it will not be another six months before my next update....  I’ll try to be more frequent.

5.7.8: 

Today I made updates to my bio, contact info, and added a couple more songs.  Slowly but surely my music samples are being re-mastered and posted.  Please check back soon for more music.  I am also working on putting together a podcast.  The podcast will consist of selected film scores that will serve as a downloadable demo reel.

Aside from the site, I graduate next week, and I started to temp a new film that I am working on.  I am very excited about this film because of its wide range of musical possibilities.  I’ll have more updates on this project once I sign the contract...

  

4.28.8: 

Hello...  This site has been up for about a month now, and there is still much work to be done.  This is especially true for my music samples.  The music samples will be posted in the very near future, once  I have time to mix new projects, and re-master old ones.  I am currently working on two films, and preparing to graduate with a Masters Degree in a couple of weeks.  Needless to say, things have been busy.  I will post updates on these projects once they start to unravel a bit more.  Thank you for visiting my site, and please check back soon.  Feel free to email me at skalbamusic@gmail.com.
